Huawei Mate 30 and 30 Pro with 4 cameras, SlowMo up to 7680 frame

Huawei has introduced its new flagships of the Mate series – the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro smartphones. New items have received the main camera of 4 modules, a top-end Kirin 990 processor and a housing protected from water according to the IP68 standard. As expected, they did not get Google services: smartphones work on Android with EMIUI 10 shell, but Google Play out of the box is not in them.

The older model is equipped with a 6.53-inch OLED matrix with edges that are 88% curved on both sides: panel resolution – 2400 × 1176 pixels, aspect ratio – 18: 4: 9. The flagship Kirin 990 processor is supplemented with 8 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of flash memory, supports 5G networks and allows you to record video at a frequency of 7680 fps (720p) and 960 fps (1080p). There is also a fingerprint scanner built into the screen.

There are no physical volume buttons in the news: for this, curved edges of the screen are used, the touch buttons on which can be moved for your convenience for convenience. The lock and on / off key remained, but moved closer to the back of the device – where the display ends.

The cutout in the screen has become a little larger compared to its predecessor: in addition to the 3D face scanner and front camera, additional sensors designed for new functions appeared in it. For example, a smartphone can recognize gestures: swipe your palm on the screen to scroll through the photo. There are no less interesting features:

  • Advanced protection: if someone else is looking at the display, even if the smartphone is in your hand, notifications on the locked screen will hide the information in them;
  • Auto-zoom depending on the tilt of the head. A special sensor monitors the tilt of the head and understands when you need to rotate the screen, and when not.

The second sensor is also 40 megapixels: 1 / 1.7 inches, up to ISO 409600, f / 1.6 and optical image stabilization (OIS). The third, by 8 megapixels, became a telephoto lens with optical stabilization and a triple optical zoom: in hybrid mode, the smartphone provides a 5-fold increase, and in digital – 30-fold. Closes the camera portion of the ToF sensor to create portrait shots (f / 2.4).

Among the program features, a new night shooting mode, simultaneous video recording on two cameras, portrait mode with different light scenarios (like on the iPhone), professional photo and video modes, as well as smart filters with automatic adjustment of parameters can be noted.
