Scientists from Southeast University of China have sided with advocates for moderate alcohol consumption. They came to this conclusion by analyzing ten other scientific papers. Those were dedicated to finding the connection between alcohol consumption and type 2 diabetes.
In the end, Chinese scientists said that with moderate alcohol consumption, glucose metabolism improves and insulin levels decrease. This means that at least diabetics can rely on some benefit from a glass of wine.
However, researchers note that the problem should be studied further. And moderate consumption, according to their version, is about half a liter of beer, 200 milliliters of wine or 50 milliliters of strong alcohol per day.
