Lenovo K5 Camera Does Not Work

In a fairly short period, Lenovo has become one of the most serious players in the Ukrainian portable equipment market. The products of the Chinese company combine quality, reliability and the best price. The new Lenovo K5 Plus smartphone has these three qualities and is designed to take a position in the niche of budget mid-range smartphones.

For the test we got the model [dlink href = ”https://shop.kyivstar.ua/smartphones/Lenovo-VIBE-K5-Plus-A6020a46-Silver.html”] Lenovo VIBE K5 Plus [/ dlink] silver color with the index A6020a46. For communication, a 3Mob operator card was installed. Of the 16 GB of internal memory out of the box, 10 was available. Unfortunately, the smartphone operates on an outdated version of Android 5.1.1. During use, no updates came out.

The smartphone was presented on February 21 at MWC 2016 and is positioned as a mid-range device. On paper, the specifications look pretty good, let’s see how things are in reality.

Here, a pleasant surprise awaits buyers. The delivery set consists not only of the device and the base charge and headset, but also includes a protective film on the screen and a plastic cover plate. I would not say that the cover is perfect, but to the “gift horse”. you know yourself. He protects the smartphone, this is the main thing. Just do not forget to periodically remove it and clean it from accumulating grains of sand. they can scratch the back cover.

In the box you will find:

  • Smartphone
  • 2750 mAh battery
  • 2-pin charging (5 V, 1.5 A)
  • microUSB cable
  • Screen Protector
  • Protective plastic case
  • Headset
  • The documentation

Design and ergonomics

The Vibe K5 Plus looks pretty stylish for a budget device. Nice design, aluminum back cover, clearly fitted plastic inserts. The case is assembled tightly, does not creak. Front is a 5-inch screen and three touch buttons without backlight. Above are proximity and lighting sensors, a front camera peephole, and a speaker. You can find a camera peephole and a flash from above. Below the aluminum cover are the speakers. By the way, it’s a very controversial decision, because, for example, during games the hand almost completely closes them.

On the sides there is a minimum number of control elements. The left side is completely empty. On the right is the power button and volume keys.

In general, everything looks good, but two claims need to be highlighted. The first is the microUSB connector located on top. Perhaps this is a matter of time, but I still could not get used to such an engineering solution. Constantly trying to insert the cable from the bottom. Plus it’s very inconvenient to install a smartphone in a car. The cord is initially not so long and you have to suffer a lot to set everything at a comfortable level. And this I am silent about the aesthetic side of the cable sticking up.

Otherwise, everything looks good. The device lies perfectly in the palm of your hand, does not slip. For all the time of use, he never tried to fall out of his hands.

K5 Plus received a 5-inch FullHD-screen with IPS-matrix. The resolution of 1080p and 440 ppi for a budget-level device is impressive. The screen is clear with large viewing angles. There are settings for saturation and color temperature. Fans of reading in the evenings will be pleasantly surprised by the reading mode. A special filter is applied and the screen turns yellow.

A light sensor was also installed in the smartphone, but it was immediately turned off due to its incorrect operation. In the sun, the screen decently decays and the brightness you want to unscrew to the maximum.

Unfortunately, the display is protected by ordinary glass, so small scratches quickly appear on it.

On the back cover of Lenovo K5 Plus proudly flaunts the inscription DOLBY, which, as it were, hints at the strong musical component of the smartphone. The speakers are really very loud and allow you to hear music / movies / podcasts well in a fairly noisy environment. However, loud. does not mean quality. Do not forget that we have a budget device and you don’t have to expect high sound quality from it, for example, like from HTC 10 or Moto X Style.

The standard headset of stars from the sky is not enough and is more likely to suit unpretentious users. For better sound quality it is better to use good headphones.

The device has a 13 megapixel main camera with f / 2.2 aperture and a single flash. The front camera has a 5 megapixel sensor and copes with its tasks tolerably. As for the main camera, this is the most controversial part of the K5 Plus. For example, if you decide to shoot in the afternoon, on the street, in good light, you can rest assured that the photographs will be clear, bright and pretty.

But believe me, shooting in the dark or just in a dark room will be a big mistake. Detailing falls, photos turn out blurry, artifacts appear.

As for the video, here the K5 Plus shows average results. Recording is in 1080p resolution at 30 fps.

The smartphone has an eight-core Snapdragon 616 processor, 2 GB of RAM and the Adreno 405 video core. You don’t have to wait for something outstanding from the K5 Plus and the rating in the AnTuTu benchmark confirms this.

Of the toys, I installed a cool MMX Hill Climb trial and the popular Asphalt 8 races. The first one went to the maximum settings by default and behaved satisfactorily during the game. The second turned out to be more demanding and at maximum graphics settings it constantly slowed down. The transition to the middle helped. Heating in games was kept within comfortable limits.

Lenovo K5 Plus is running Android 5.1.1 with a proprietary Vibe UI interface. The system is a bit old, but well optimized, it works smoothly and comfortably. Minimum animation delays were observed only after a significant load of a large number of running applications.

The device has a 2750 mAh battery. It is removable, which for many users is an important factor. With a small load, the battery lasts for a day and a half with ease. If you load a smartphone during the day (GPS, 60 minutes of games, surfing the Web, music), then in the evening you will have to use charging.

In the Ukrainian market, the K5 Plus smartphone will have a hard time. The niche is tightly packed with brands like ASUS, Xiaomi, Meizu. Some devices offer a better camera, some. more additional functions and a more attractive design.
