This year, Samsung released the 10th anniversary line of flagship Galaxy S10 smartphones. At the moment, these are the most popular and best-selling Android smartphones and every year the company tries to make its flagships as technologically advanced and "stuffed". Which is generally successful Samsung. But this year they decided to expand the line: in addition to the traditional Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 (larger and slightly more functional), a third appeared, "younger" the flagship Galaxy S10e with a smaller flat screen, a little truncated functionality and significantly lower price tag. A sort of answer Apple iPhone Xr. But we will talk about it in detail in the corresponding review, but for now we will concentrate on the older Samsung Galaxy S10.
What is it?
Samsung Galaxy S10. the flagship Android smartphone with a large curved screen Dynamic AMOLED 6.4 inches, the new flagship Samsung Exynos processor, 8 GB of RAM, triple main camera, dual front camera, on-screen fingerprint scanner and dust and moisture protection.
How is he interesting?
The smartphone is still made of glass and metal. There is a ceramic option, but I’m not sure that it will reach our market. But the shape of the case has changed a bit, the screen has become larger, and the frames are smaller. Largely due to the fact that now the front camera (it is double in the Galaxy S10) is embedded directly into the screen, Samsung called this design of the Infinity-O display. The updated Dynamic AMOLED display is used, which, according to the developers, has even better color reproduction, even higher peak brightness and supports the HDR10 standard (the main camera can shoot the corresponding video). Resolution 3040×1440, aspect ratio. 19: 9, side edges are curved. Instead of two cameras, there are now three back. For "ordinary" snapshots, 2x zoom, background blur and for wide-angle shots. Inside. a new eight-core 8-nanometer Exynos 9820 processor with a clock frequency of 2.73 GHz, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory (in the basic version). The fingerprint scanner moved right under the screen, and the iris scanner disappeared, only recognition by the face of the owner remained. The battery has increased to 4100 mAh, supports fast wired and wireless charging, and there is also a function of reverse wireless charging. It is not too practical for charging another smartphone, but Samsung Galaxy Buds is quite useful for wireless headphones.
What’s in the box?
The smartphone comes in a small black cardboard box with a large model name. The inscription is the same color as the smartphone inside. The kit is traditionally somewhat more interesting than most modern smartphones. The box contains the smartphone itself, a Samsung Adaptive Fast Charge charger, a USB Type-C cable, two adapters from Type-A and MicroUSB to Type-C, a wired AKG headset, a tray eject tool, and documentation.

What does the Samsung Galaxy S10 look like?
Samsung decided not to resort to some radical rethinking of the design concept, so that visually the continuity of the line is felt very clearly, but there are still a number of significant changes. The screen has become even larger, and the frames are even smaller. On the sides they were minimal, but now the gaps under and above the screen have also decreased. This was made possible thanks to a cutout for the front camera directly in the display. In the Samsung Galaxy S10 it is oblong due to the use of two cameras. Samsung basically does not use "monobrow" in its flagships and it is very pleasing. Although in some situations this solution also has a nuance in the form "holes" in the image in some games and videos.
The shape of the smartphone has become a little more "rectangular" Compared to the Galaxy S9 / S9, closer to the Galaxy Note9. Above the screen is a small slot in the earpiece. The screen, of course, with curved sides, has the traditional Always-on-Display function:
The screen and rear panel smoothly transition into a metal frame, a frame that tapers at the side ends. The power button is located on the right side, closer to the top of the smartphone. This situation is convenient when using the smartphone with the right hand: the thumb falls just on it. When using with your left hand. not so convenient: you need to reach for it with your index finger. The first couple of days was unusual:
At the top there is an additional microphone and a tray for SIM / MicroSD:
A hybrid option is used: either 2xnanoSIM, or SIM plus MicroSD. There is a rubber seal to prevent ingress of water:
On the left are the volume buttons and the Bixby assistant call button. Samsung finally took pity on users and made it possible to reassign it to another action (but at the same time Bixby will be launched by double-clicking):
Bottom. USB Type-C, an external speaker, a talking microphone and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It is very pleasant that the company is in no hurry to clean it, as most manufacturers did in their flagships:
The entire back panel is made of fifth-generation Gorilla Glass. In the middle is the Samsung logo, above is the main camera module. The fingerprint scanner is now not under the camera, but under the screen. We will return to his work a little later:
The main camera module with three lenses, a flash heart rate sensor is located horizontally:
The smartphone is available in several colors: white mother of pearl, black onyx and aquamarine. Samsung decided not to follow fashion trends and uses gradient colors only in more modest models. Flagships are available in more "respectable" colors. Black onyx looks quite familiar, but the mother-of-pearl turned out to be very interesting: at first glance it is white, but in the light it is slightly iridescent in different shades and has a barely noticeable small texture.
