The analytical company SuperData summed up the results of the digital gaming market for August 2019. In total, the players spent $ 8.9 billion per month on them. The statistics take into account all games – console, computer and mobile, not distributed to physical media.
This figure is 2% higher than last year. Mobile games remain the fastest growing segment and accounted for 62% of the industry as a whole, while a year ago mobile games accounted for 57%.
The most profitable mobile game was Pokémon GO. She brought her creators 176 million in August. On the PC, Dungeon Fighter Online and League of Legends are leading, but World of Warcraft showed the most impressive leap forward. Income from subscriptions to this game grew in August by 223% thanks to the release of WoW Classic. Fortnite leads the consoles.
