About a year ago, Xiaomi began to block the bootloader on all of its smartphones. This fact not only caused a lot of discontent among users, but also sufficiently complicated the procedure for custom firmware smartphones.
Of course, you can install Dev. firmware, submit an unlock request, wait from a couple of days to a month and, nevertheless, unlock the device, but all this takes time. And given that the Chinese service works with varying degrees of success, you may not get approval at all. And even after receiving appropriate approval, there is always the possibility of an unsuccessful bootloader unlock due to an error on the part of the Chinese (50% error) or due to incorrect drivers.
Do not forget that the user can get permission to unlock the bootloader only once a month on one account for one device. And it doesn’t matter for which device you have received approval.
For the average user, this may not be a problem, but for sellers (who have dozens of smartphones), this translates into a huge “bunch” of time.
Having received another Xiaomi smartphone, I needed to unlock the bootloader. When viewing the Developer’s options, I discovered that an additional option appeared, namely “Mi Unlock”: now the status of the device, of course, "Unlocked", but the first time the device status was locked.
– In order to get to the developer’s menu, you need to go to Settings. About the phone. Several times click on “MIUI Version”:

– Next, go again to Settings. Advanced. For Developers:
– Click on the tab “Mi Unlock Status” and in the opened tab select “Add account and device”:
– Having completed this simple procedure, immediately download Mi Unlock, if not already installed, and unlock the bootloader:
As a result, in a couple of minutes you get an unlock bootloader, without leaving the cash desk, without waiting for approval, without submitting an application!
It remains to add Root in two clicks, as competitors (Meizu) realized, for complete comfort!
