Why is Windows loading slowed?
Windows is a complex operating system. Dozens of processes work simultaneously in it (and, of course, start when the computer boots up): services, drivers, etc. As in all cases when there is only one road and there are many traffic participants, traffic jams form during Windows startup. Here are their main culprits.
The biggest culprit in slow boot is almost always your hard drive. All files of programs, services and drivers are on it. And when the system requires them, the hard drive needs a certain amount of time, which in turn depends on the speed and physical design of the drive. That is why the start of the system from an SSD-drive occurs almost instantly. the random read speed of this type of drive is prohibitive in comparison with the hard drives of the classical magnetic design (HDD).
The simultaneous start of a large number of programs
All services and programs at startup start at about the same time. Typically, the system resolves collisions rather quickly, but this is the case with system processes. And if the user has put some of their programs into "Startup", then they can significantly slow down the work of others at startup, and generally increase the system boot time.

How to measure and increase Windows boot speed
To optimize and speed up something, we need to measure it first. There are several ways to do this.
Using the Autorun Organizer Utility
In modern versions of Windows, the easiest way is to use the free Autorun Organizer utility from Chemtable Software. It is convenient in that it uses all the standard means of the operating system for work, which are scattered in different places in the system itself and which are not so convenient to use, which are not as clear as they could be. In fact, this is a redesigned appearance for regular Windows tools.

For example, you can find out the Windows boot time using regular tools by getting a list with numbers that, in milliseconds, show the boot time (see sections below). In Autorun Organizer, these numbers are plotted on a chart and translated into more understandable and familiar seconds and minutes.
In addition, Autorun Organizer has a built-in scan of all startup items by the VirusTotal service, which scans files and links to viruses by all known key anti-virus systems at once and issues a general scan report. So with it, you can identify malicious processes in startup and take action.

You can, in particular, find out which programs and processes load longer than others. To see this special magazine in the form that is most convenient for us, filter it by event code 100.
According to this code, the events of system loading are recorded in the log. Sometimes this method allows you to find a braking start program.
Using the bootvis utility
On Windows earlier than 7. 10, the bootvis utility was used to study the process of starting and breeding in time of simultaneously starting programs. After installation, she did an analysis of the system startup time, then introduced the adjustment programs in the start order and analyzed the launch again. On Windows XP, this often helped me.
Using Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Tools for Windows 7. 10
In these versions of the system, the start process is optimized automatically. In fairness, it should be said that the first elements of automatic start-up optimization were introduced back in Windows XP.
In Windows 7. 10, system start diagnostics are available using standard diagnostic and troubleshooting tools. Scripts based on the PowerShell tool allow you to make various reports about the system startup process. For example, a script from the site of Vadim Sterkin, a Windows specialist.

How can you help Windows run faster
1. Remove all unnecessary programs from the "startup". This will make it easier to start the system. The fewer programs at startup, the faster the system turns on.
2. Use sleep mode instead of turning off the computer. This will significantly reduce the system startup time to just a few seconds. Getting out of sleep mode is so fast that you can say that the computer is available for work immediately after pressing the power button or mouse button. 3. If possible, use an SSD drive. This will significantly accelerate the speed of reading data from the media, which in turn directly affects the speed of the system and the boot time as well.
